The star of the event is the Cannonball Stage, a coach originally built in 1901 and restored especially for the wagon train in 1986.
It earned its name by "shooting" 72 miles in 12 hours, with stops every 10 miles for fresh horses.
Over the years, the Cannonball hauled such famous passengers as John D. Rockefeller and President Theodore Roosevelt.
