We sometimes get to a point in our life where we start slowing down, and so we try different life style changes. Diet fads, Diet pills, no pizza, sound familiar?

You see, being fit and feeling good is not about starving yourself. It’s about establishing healthy habits and keeping them. Whatever your reason is, lowering your cholesterol, loosing weight, keeping your lower weight, or just feeling great, you need to use some simple strategies to help you stick to your plan.

Here are some ideas that might help you. Separate food from mood; are you really hungry, or are you just bored? stressed? lonely? tired? angry or even happy? If you’re really truly not hungry, find other ways to manage your mood. Exercising, reading, watching a movie, or going over a friends house may help you get out of a bad mood instead of stuffing your face. Clear all temptations out of your kitchen cabinets. Throw away high-sugar and high-sodium packaged snacks. If their not there, you won’t eat them! Pay attention to portions. Learn to recognize standard serving sizes so you won’t over eat. Did you know that 3 ounces of cooked meat, poultry, or fish looks like the size of a deck of cards? One-half cup of fruit, vegetables, pasta or rice is about the size of a baseball? Just get in the habit of eating smaller portions, if you want to loose weight. Plan ahead, eat some fruit before you plan to go to a party or a late dinner. This way you won’t be overly hungry when you arrive and over eat. Eat smart, buy smart, and remember that if your eating plan is interrupted, it doesn’t mean your whole day or week is wrecked. Just get back on your program at your next meal. If you would like some more information on what types of food to stay away from, foods that add protein, lowering your calories, drop me a line and I’ll be happy to answer any questions you have. Remember, I put on “Private Dinners Parties” I bring the restaurant to you. Just kick back and have your very own personal Chef cater to you. Drop me a line for more information.
