The Patriot Act

By Guest Editorial Writer James Heth

Every American should take the time to read section 215 of the so-called,
"Patriot Act".

If that was to happen a great wailing moaning would float out over the land.
People would clamor about demanding to know, "What Happened!"

"You mean to tell me there is no longer a first amendment!" some would yell in
stunned tones of disbelief. It would be difficult if not impossible, for many
people to believe that, these, "taken for granted," rights no longer exist...
That our government can arrest anyone, at any time, without a reason, and take
them anyplace they want to, without telling anyone, where, how, why, when, or
for how long! People just cannot conceive of something like this happening in
our world, but, it can and has happened already, right here in "The Land of the
Free".

With a grand flourish and a wave of the flag and by employing a kind of warped,
weird, psychotic twisting of logic, we are being told by the creators of this
"act" within our splendid administration, that by giving up these rights we will
somehow help in the fight against terrorism.

However, the ultimate irony, is the fact that it does not help to give up these
rights at all, but actually aids terrorist in the enlisting of new followers as
they now point to the act as proof they are harming us and this is a great
accomplishment of theirs (which, of course, it is).

Our Constitution, the same one, that many of us have always believed to be a
sacred document held right up there with our bibles, has been ripped, twisted
and trampled on by this, miss-named insult to every American...

People should demand that congress throw out this so called "act", and restore
our wonderful constitution and not let anyone tamper with it anymore. They all
took an oath pledging to do just that.

Now, before it's too late, we should take back our government from this gang of
power mad egocentric bullies.

Sincerely,

Jim Heth
