Enough Is Enough !

With great bursts of hoorays and hoorahs the Democrats belatedly finally and at last have come up with a plan to end the war in Iraq.

In a bill that the President wants passed to provide more funding for his ”surge” program, congress has attached a little kicker. With an attached amendment they are demanding that all of
America’s combat troops must be home by September, 2008.

The President went ballistic when he heard about this and said flat out that he would veto the bill or any other that called for a time table to withdraw troops. Of course, he is between Iraq and a hard place because when he vetoes this bill he also is cutting off funding for his “surge” plan.

Congress and the White House are now already on a major constitutional collision course; with the president citing, “executive privilege,” in forbidding Carl Rove and others from testifying under oath regarding the scandal emerging around the firing of federal prosecutors. It is being charged they were fired specifically because they were failing to prosecute enough Democrats but instead were pursuing several well connected Republicans. The charge, if proven, might just be the straw that will break the American public’s back. The facts are startling. Of the 375 officials prosecuted by The Department of Justice, 298 were Democrats and only 67 were Republicans.

Coming on top of this ill-conceived, immoral and disastrous war, the inexcusable neglect of  New Orleans and the constant stream of lies occurring almost daily out of the White House, all together these things may be just too much for American tolerance..

The American public will not stand by and allow the entire Department of Justice remain a political tool of Carl Rove or anyone else and if an effort is made to continue to do that then the unwelcome thought of “impeachment” will once again raise it’s ugly head in spite of the fact that no one wants that to happen, but still there are limits to the  tolerance of the American conscience and we are fast approaching that line one dare not cross.

Enough is enough is enough and most Americans have “had it!”
