The Libby Affair
By Guest Editorial Writer James Heth

The sordid Libby affair is an example of the core problem within the administration. This thoughtless devotion to some strange obtuse conservative belief has been the cause of almost all of the deficiencies of the Bush administration. This “Rah! Rah!, it’s us against the rest of the world”, is a throwback to the childish sophomoric attitude typical of college fraternities that many lacking self esteem gravitate towards. A greater tragedy would be to send Libby to jail for following the desires and wishes of his employers. If anyone should be charged with a crime it should be those who instigated this sad affair and not some poor aide who simply did what his employers wanted him to do. A pardon for Libby is the very least that Bush should do. An honest man would have stepped forward a long time ago and taken responsibility for this entire wretched affair. It was a simple chain of command. Bush told Cheney. Cheney turned around and explained it to Libby. Good old “Scooter”, then did what he was told and now he alone is going to jail for following orders and refusing to snitch on his employers. Yes indeed, a sad administration of justice by an already jaded Department of Justice. James Heth
