Karl Rove

There is much speculation regarding the resignation of Karl Rove. Many believe that he resigned in order to avoid having to testify before congress, but he is still going to have to answer a summons if congress should issue one and it is most likely that they will for congress is determined to get to the bottom of the firing of the attorneys in the Department of Justice as well they should.

However, I believe he resigned because he knew, ”The Jig was up”, and the days of running rampant over everybody was coming to an abrupt ending and after the next election he and the rest of the republicans would be completely out of power and there would be no place for him in the scheme of things, that the party was over. Not only was Bush now a lame duck, but more accurately he was a political dead duck and that included Karl Rove.  In short their gravy train was being de-railed and it was better to gracefully get out now than to be thrown out later.
