Mid-East Policy

By Guest Editorial Writer James Heth

Most of the problems and tensions now occurring in the Mid-East are as a direct result of our absurd policy i.e., that we and only a few of our friends should be allowed to have atomic energy.  Why we think it is our God given duty to prevent Iran from developing atomic energy defies logic.

Who appointed us to determine that, neither North Korea or Iran, should be allowed to have atomic energy?  What makes us believe that we alone shall determine who can have atomic capability? Who made that rule?

And why did we in fact encourage our ally Israel to make a so called, “secret” air raid, deep within Syria in order to destroy parts of Syria’s atomic development?

One of these days we should wake up and realize that we were not appointed to be the head of world, nor do our ideas and way of life have to be the prevailing standard throughout the world. Although it may come as a great shock to many, the fact remains,  we actually are not exactly perfect.

The world would be a far more pleasant place if we would mind our own business and leave other countries alone. And we too, would greatly benefit if, instead of spending millions making war, that instead, we redirected our resources and energy back into our own heartland. One would think that by now we would have learned that it is best to fix our own roof before trying to pound nails into our neighbors.

It would be the ultimate tragedy if it should take a World War III to change our mid-east policy,
