Mountain Shadows
By Guest Editorial Writer James Heth

Snow Within the mountains shadow each season presents us with an array of spectacular beauty. Spring displays a variety of lovely wild flowers and splashes of blossoms sprinkled over the branches of our fruit trees. Summertime gives us a constant swirl of musky smelling lupine that like a purple carpet covers our hillsides beneath a sparkling of bright blue skies and huge white billowing clouds taking the shapes of whatever our imaginations perceive. Then in the fall the mountains glow in golden, orange and lovely muted yellows. Ah, then comes the winter with snow sprinkled like diamond dust across the tops of oak trees, glistening in the sunlight and carefully outlining in stark white each and every twig regardless of how small. There are certainly other beautiful places in this world but its difficult to imagine anyplace that can match the mountain shadows for sheer all year long astonishing beauty.
