Fun at the Mariposa County Pool

On a hot summer day I visited the swimming pool at the Mariposa County
Park. A large number of kids from the parks Day Camp program were
enjoying themselves and keeping cool in the pool. At least six camp counselors
were keeping a watch over all the kids. I was surprised
at how well the kids were behaving. Every once in a while one of the
counselors would remind one of the kids not to run. I observed another
counselor applying sunscreen to a group of little boys. Having been an
elementary school teacher I can say this is a well run program.
The kids all wanted me to take their picture and some of them showed me their
best jumps and dives. We can be proud that Mariposa
County offers this program.
