A few months ago the Mariposa County Board of Supervisors was approached by Mariposa County Health
Officer, Dr.Mosher about offering the citizens of Mariposa County a Prescription Discount Card that would not cost the county
any money. The Board approved of this offer and now for a few months this plan has been available to the residents of Mariposa
County.
Who can have this card?
Any Mariposa County Citizen, regardless of income or age.
Enrollment is free. Just provide the Health Dept. with a drivers license or bills showing your mailing address in Mariposa
County.

Since Caremark and Costco offer mail order prescriptions the Sierra Sun Times decided to do a price comparison between the two
companies.
We compared five of the ten top selling drugs in America for brand name and generic.
The results are surprising. On "name brand drugs" Caremark mail order service is the winner, for example on a 90 day supply of Lipitor 40mg tabs one can save over $40.00 over the Costco price.
On the "generic drugs" Costco was the clear winner, as for example on generic Zoloft by over $100.00
Our advice is if you are on a very short term drug and need it now, use the card and buy it locally.
Always use a generic or an alternative generic drug if possible.
