Fishing in Mariposa County is fabulous from the Wild & Scenic Merced River that flows out of Yosemite National

Lake McClure & Lake McSwain Lake McClure and Lake McSwain's recreational spots range from 400 to 1,000 feet in elevation, in beautiful pine and oak woodland backgrounds. The yearly base average temperature is about 70 degrees, with an average surface water temperature of 80 degrees. Summers are dry and warm, with almost no rainfall. Daytime temperatures reach into the 90s and the low 100s.ideal swimming and boating conditions. Whether you like to fish, boat, swim, camp or just want to enjoy a picnic day at the lake, Lake McClure and Lake McSwain offer your family some of California's best water-oriented recreation areas. Lake Don Pedro Welcome to Don Pedro Lake, California's best kept secret. Nestled in the Sierra Nevada foothills due east of Modesto, CA, Don Pedro Lake may well be the answer for those recreational enthusiasts who are tired of dealing with the crowds often found at lakes closer to large metropolitan areas.
Offering 160 miles of shoreline with nearly 13,000 surface acres of water (at maximum lake
level), there is plenty of water on which to enjoy your favorite water sport. Boating, fishing (for bass, trout, salmon,
crappie, bluegill and catfish), swimming, water-skiing, jet-skiing, windsurfing, sailing and house boating are some of the
major water oriented activities enjoyed at the lake. Yosemite National Park The season for stream and river fishing begins on the last Saturday in April and continues through November 15. The only exception is Frog Creek near Lake Eleanor, where fishing season does not open until June 15 to protect spawning rainbow trout. All lakes and reservoirs are open to fishing year-round.There are some special regulations that apply within the park.
