Mariposa County Unemployment Report For FEBRUARY 2007
 

 

The Mariposa County Unemployment rate for February 2007 stood at 7.5 %. A Gain of .2% from the January report and also .1% down from February of 2006.

The State of California unemployment rate for February was 5.2% a Drop of .1% from the January report and down .2% from February 2006.

The United States unemployment rate for February was 4.9% a Drop of a .1% from January and .2% drop from February 2006.

The above numbers are not adjusted for seasonality.

8,750 people were employed during February in Mariposa County while 660 were out looking for work. That compares to 640 residents who were looking for work in January and 650 in February 2006.

160 more residents were employed this February than February 2006.

Of the 8,750 workers 1,810 work for the government, 1,710 work in the leisure and hospitality industry and 10 individuals work on farms.
In February 2006, 1830 people worked in the leisure and hospitality industry compared to 1,710 in February 2007 a drop of 120 workers or about 6.5%.
