The Democratic Club of Mariposa County is delighted to honor Al Gore on his Nobel Peace Prize win for raising Global Warming awareness. Members also wholeheartedly supported the November 3rd "Step it up Sierra" event organized by Bridget Fithian held at the Mariposa Art Park. Approximately 250 citizens attended. Ours was one of 1400 events in 50 states and featured environmental demonstrations with musical entertainment  by "The Trespassers". In the wake of this groundswell of support, we can continue to voice our concerns by urging the U.S. Congress to reduce heat trapping carbon emissions by 80% by 2050.
