No Butter Just Guns

In spite of the fact that within the United States our infrastructure suffers, bridges are falling down and schools need books and many children need health care, this administration has submitted the largest military budget in history.  The military budget proposed for next year is over 700 billion dollars. They have done this in spite of the discovery of many cases of outright fraud in the handling of funds by defense contractors and the pentagon itself and neither of the candidates have objected to this outrageous waste of desperately needed funds here at home.

The military industrial lobbyist has placed the American people in the position that if anyone should question this spending they stand accused of supporting terrorists.  While millions are being squandered in
Iraq and elsewhere, highways and bridges keep crumbling and falling down and many schools do not have enough text books but by God we’ve got guns.  We spend more on military than most other countries combined and neither candidate wants to object. The administration wants to add another 60,000 troops to the army while candidate McCain wants to add 90,000.

The military industrial complex Eisenhower had warned us about has succeeded beyond its wildest dreams
