Democrats Electing McCain?
By Guest Editorial Writer James Heth
|
Although the general election is still a few months away the Democrats are with gusto bashing both of their two leading candidates, one of which will be the Democratic nominee running for president against John McCain. The bashing is providing the Republicans with enough material added to what they might dig up before November to seriously damage the Democratic candidate and give considerable aid to John McCain. The amount of negative material that will be thrown against the Democratic candidate might well be enough to elect McCain and for the first time in history a president will have been elected by his opponent’s supporters. The Democrats will have been correct in stating that this was going to be a historical election but not for the reasons they had hoped for. The bashing from the camps of both candidates is a perfect example of sour grapes and a complete lack of class on both of their parts leaving the look of presidential dignity to John Mc Cain who so far has risen above the mud-slinging and has demonstrated a great deal of presidential dignity and presidential restraint, qualities apparently lacking in both of the feuding back-biting Democrats, making it quite difficult for us to consider either one of them able to represent the best of America. Where, oh where, are the Lincolns, the Roosevelt’s, the Jefferson’s, and John Kennedy and yes, even Harry Truman, when we really need them?
