When the election is over and the Republicans look at all the losses they have incurred there will be a period of frantic finger pointing. First, of course they will point to the so called, ” liberal media with it’s left leaning columnist.” Then they will blame the television broadcasters claiming they gave the opposition much more coverage. After their massive assault on the mainstream media has subsided they will begin to focus on each other beginning with Sarah Palin. ”It was her shopping”, they will say, that did them in Then, they will heap scorn on George Bush claiming that he alone led them into this disaster (which may actually have some merit).. The truth escaping them is the fact that the gutter campaign and slime throwing they engaged in disgusted most voters and caused many undecided and independent voters to vote against the Republicans. Eventually they will turn upon Carl Rove and his methods in spite of the fact they had embraced them with delight and wholehearted enthusiasm. The point of course, is that finger pointing always has more fingers aiming back at the pointer than anyone else and is a useless practice to begin with. But, the Republicans lately have not been noted for being very bright. They are now facing a real dilemma; they must either change or simply disappear There are many hoping the latter will be the case.
