Bush’s Budget (The final disaster)
By Guest Editorial Writer James Heth
|
The administration just submitted to Congress the final insult to the American public in the form of a 3.1 trillion dollar budget with a projected 407 billion deficit for 2009. Bush says his policies would produce a balanced budget by the year 2012 but his underlying assumptions can only be considered to be a series of bad jokes. People tolerated Republicans because they believed they would bring fiscal responsibility to Washington. Unfortunately their hopes turned into the dry dust of colossal failure and as a result; fiscally the country now totters on the very edge of bankruptcy and is depending upon foreign investors to save us The coming election will undoubtedly end the conservative influence in Washington and the “Change “ being touted by leading Democrats might actually be more conservative fiscal policies, which, of course, would be the final irony for Republicans.
