Mountain Shadows

Wildflowers People all over California frequently drive out into the Mohave Desert this time of the year to see the blooming desert wildflowers.
In Mariposa one only has to wander along any one of our country roads to see a vast array of wildflowers
starting, of course, with the golden California poppy clustered in bunches along the hillsides. Then too are groups of
Baby-blue-eyes scattered in and around bunches of fiddle neck and all along the roads can be seen the nodding heads of pale
yellow mustard. Additionally there is the haze of snow white snow flowers always present along the hillsides. Ever so
often one will see the purple lupine reaching skywards and emitting its musky scent into the soft spring breezes that flow
within the mountains shadows.
