Recently while I was in Fresno I decided
to pick up some birdseed at the Wild Bird Center Store. To my great surprise the Fresno Wildlife Rehabilitation was there
with many of their hawks and owls. It was wonderful to get to see the birds up so close.
Fresno Wildlife Rescue and Rehabilitation Service volunteers provide emergency medical and restorative care to native species of California wildlife. They serve the San Joaquin Valley, from Bakersfield to Sacramento and outlying areas as far away as San Diego and San Francisco. The all-volunteer organization cares for orphaned or injured native wildlife ranging from wild birds to mammals. Each year, their volunteers visit classes, scouts, service clubs, etc. and introduce people of all ages to a broad variety of animals. Their presentation activities are aligned to the California science standards, for grade levels (K-12). http://www.fresnowildlife.org/ Fresno Wildlife Rehabilitation 55 Temperance Clovis, CA 93611 559-325-2888 The Wild Bird Center Store has an amazing inventory of anything and everything to do with wild birds. http://wildbird.com/stores/frs/ The owners Michael and Kathy Ruffino are friendly and very knowledgeable.
