Longview Stables is the new home of Victoria Rudge and her family. Rudge has
British Equine Training and a broad spectrum of equine experience from Arabians in the Middle East, fox
hunting in her native Devon to the traditional training she received from her mother who was a British Horse
Society Instructor. Victoria has worked with adults and children as well as a variety of horse breeds.
Victoria and her husband Bryan Imrie opened their Pumpkin Patch on October
17th. Since then they have been visited by over a 150 children, their teachers and parents. There are a number of activities for the kids to
participate in. Victoria gives instructions on how to treat a horse while the children are allowed to pet the
pony Spirit, one at a time. They are encouraged to suggest a name for Spirit's foal. The winner will receive a
free riding lesson.
A maze of straw bales was a big hit with Brownie Troop 3093. Lemonade was served after the hay ride up the hill to see the large arena with views of the High Sierra. Brownie leader, Becky Collins read a Halloween story to the kids and afterward Bryan passed out small pumpkins to everyone. Victoria and her daughters rode the "unicorns" Lady and Mocha.
Victoria and Bryan moved to Mariposa from Coarsegold two years ago after buying
the 40 acre parcel that surrounds Springhill School and backs up to the Long Ranch. In the summer Bryan works
in Yosemite on a mule pack train. They have two daughters Morgan, a young baby and Sophie who will turn five
on Halloween.
With all her experience Victoria plans on starting a riding school for adults
and kids as young as 3 to 4.
She plans to start a Pony Club: http://www.ponyclub.org/ and will be giving individual and group lessons.
