Accounting Director

Join an exciting non-profit organization that supports Yosemite National Park. The Yosemite Association, an educational non-profit, is recruiting for an Accounting Director.  We are looking for a strong individual to lead our small (3-person) accounting department. This position will oversee and perform the general accounting function for the Association. This will include financial management and fiscal oversight, budget development, preparation of financial statements, A/R, A/P, and general ledger entries. Candidates should have at least five years experience, have knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, financial planning and budgeting, knowledge of computer systems and have excellent analytical skills. Annual salary range is $41K to $62K DOE and includes benefits. We will begin screening and interviewing candidates immediately and we will accept resumes until February 1, 2008. EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

JOB DESCRIPTION
Mission

Mountain Crisis Services is a non-profit agency that seeks to prevent domestic and sexual violence by advocating for positive changes in the societal systems that may lead to oppression, fostering a better understanding of domestic and sexual violence through community education, and providing culturally relevant direct services that empower victims of abuse and their children.

Basic Description:

Serves as the chief executive officer under the direction and supervision of the governing Board of Directors. Advises and consults with the Board in policy development, implementation, and Agency operations.

Has the authority, responsibility and accountability for the operation and management of Mountain Crisis Services. Is responsible for funding, fiscal management, planning, organizing, and directing the Agency’s programs, resources, and services. Ensures the Agency’s responsibilities to its clients and the community are met through the continuous evaluation of work processes, programs, and outcomes. Serves as the liaison with the community and community agencies to promote the mission of Mountain Crisis Services.  Establishes collaborative relationships with community agencies working in behalf of victims of domestic violence. Promotes the mission of Mountain Crisis Services in all professional interactions.

            QUALIFICATIONS

§         Master’s degree from an accredited university or college. Baccalaureate degree will be considered with work experience

§         Minimum of two years management experience

§         Expertise in fund development and fiscal management

§         Excellent communication skills

§         Ability to assume leadership role in community collaboration

§         Experience in successful grant writing

§         Expertise in strategic planning, program planning, development, implementation and evaluation

§         Knowledge and understanding of domestic violence, sexual assault and women’s issues

§         California Driver’s License and proof of insurance

§         Commitment to the mission of Mountain Crisis Services

§         Upon hire, submit to a background check and drug test

Mountain Crisis Services offers health, dental, vision, life and 403b benefits through a cafeteria plan.  Starting salary $45,000 or commensurate with experience.
