I, William Baer, am declaring my candidacy for election to Mariposa County District II Supervisor. I am a resident of Coulterville, registered voter and property/business owner in District II of Mariposa County.

My personal information is that I came from the state of Ohio and was raised on a large farm, which produced corn and wheat. We had between 100 to 200 head of milking cows plus pigs and chickens. I am a happily married family man with a wife named Dorothy that everyone loves. Dorothy has been a Registered Nurse for over 40 years and it shows in her people skills. We have three sons from the age of 11 to 26 years old. I was a Hospital Corpsman (1967 to 1970) in the Vietnam War attached to the United States Marine Corp received a Purple Heart and a Bronze Star. I have owned three businesses and the last being Black Oak General Store that was loss due to an arson fire. Many people still miss our business and we plan to rebuild. We opened the first Recycle Center in the District to help the community. I have been a Volunteer Adult Education Teacher for over 10 years. I have over 25 years in the computer field and 15 of them as upper management. I have managed large project and budgets for many bay area companies (like Hewlett Packard, IBM, Golden Gate Bridge, etc.). Our family has provided volunteer services, time and supplies to many organizations (Lions, VFW, schools, Farm Bureau, Cattleman Association, etc.). I am an ordained minister. The citizens of the community know our family as always willing to help, being fair, provides guidance to anyone in need and support. I feel I understand the needs of the community because I have been dealing with the same problems and issues as you.

I have been asked why I wish to be a candidate. The reason is I am unhappy as to how:

  1. The Board of Supervisors treats the community unfairly.
  2. The Board of Supervisors forgets who pays their checks.
  3. The Board of Supervisors keeps taking and taking with very little give back to the community.
  4. The money from the community to the county keeps going up with very little notable resolute.
  5. The Board of Supervisors refuses to help the community if it is not in their best interest, but will help themselves with your money to increase their pay, while we continue to struggle to keep our families going.
  6. It takes forever to get anything started or completed.

I would like to have a “20 Questions” debate with our incumbent dealing with our positions. I believe I can provide the best service to the community will help in the time of need and will remember who elected me.

Please vote for me, William Baer. (wbaer4802@hotmail.com)
