Honorary Mayor 2008 Groveland, California - Kay Graves

1st Place for Best Decorated Booth - Hotel Jeffery 'House on Fire'

A fabulous day in Groveland yesterday as thousands of locals and tourists were on hand for the 49er Festival and Chili Cook-Off. The Hotel Jeffery in Historic Coulterville took the first place award for Best Decorated Booth. Mingling among the crowd was the Honorary Mayor of Groveland Kay Graves and the Deputy Mayors. 600 Chili kits were sold and an additional 70 or more could have been sold if the participants had more chili! The Parade featured a fly- by of the Groveland Air Force that consisted of thirteen planes flying above Highway 120 to kick off the parade. Live music was in the Park all day long with time out for a very successful live and silent auction.
