The day was overcast and the wind made it a little bit cool. It was nothing like the hot weather we have had the previous few days. There were yellow school buses lining the road to the Civil War Reenactment. Almost 900 students from Mariposa and all over the Central Valley took advantage to participate in this years event.
The students were divided into small groups and sent to Educational Stations located all over the wildflower covered Long Ranch. There were Cavalry demonstrations, Infantry, Foot Soldiers, Artillery, Medical, Communications, Civilian and Slavery. These were hands on demonstrations with students actually taking part.
Between the Morning and the Afternoon Programs there was a battle/skirmish reenactment, complete with cavalry charges, soldiers, and cannon fire.
