The morning began with the Mariposa County High School band marching
onto the grounds playing "O'Donnell
Abu". Next on the agenda was the Presentation of the
Colors by the Color Guard of the VFW Keith M. Bertken Post #6042
followed by Mariposa County Unified School District Superintendent
Randy Panietz welcoming everyone to the event.
The "Armed Forces Salute " was played by the band as the young ones
stood up. The Flag Raising took place while Morgan Tramontin sang
the "Star Spangled Banner" that was followed by the Pledge of
Allegiance.

Council introduced Sarah Higginbotham who was representing
Congressman George Radanovich and Shannon Major from the offices of

With the young students signing along, Isabella Spurlin and Rebecca
Middleton led the students as they signed "God Bless America."
Vietnam Veteran Al Handy was then recognized for his Valor in
Vietnam and later during the day, met with the children in the
classrooms.
The children, parents, teachers and the rest of those in attendance
sang along to "God Bless America". The Flag was then lowered
followed by the 'Three Volley Rifle Salute." Bugler Neil
