No reported fires in the county yesterday.
One reported accident in the county yesterday, but that accident turned out to be a vehicle that was stuck in the mud near the intersection of Princeton Way and 49 North during the morning commute hours.
A cat was reported as missing from a residence on Yaqui Gulch Road.
Out on Colorado Road dogs were out chasing the neighbors horses.
The caller from Sierra Drive had several questions.
And Finally, On the 132 near Coulterville during the afternoon hours someone was reported to be drunk in public.
(Possibly celebrating the Making Work Pay Tax Credit!)
No one was booked yesterday in the county under lock and key as everyone was busy with taxes.

No reported fires in the county yesterday.
One reported accident in the county yesterday and that accident took place on
49 South near Ashworth Road during the afternoon hours.

On Sherlock Road an owner of some cats relinquished them to the county
(Tough Time Equals Tough Choices.)
A fence was taken down on Darrah Road.
Vandalism was discovered near the intersection Highway 49 North
and Mount Bullion Cut-Off Road.
Identity theft was reported from Schoolhouse Road and on Grist Road.
Someone was littering at the county park in Mariposa.
A suspicious phone call was made to a residence on Carter Road.
And Finally, Out at the Sweetwater Mine the caller reported
the possible theft of metal.
(That is a problem area that the Sierra National Forest one day will not have to worry about as everything will be stolen!)
Two fellows and one lady were booked yesterday in the county under lock and key for various offenses including Probation Violation and DUI.

No reported fires in the county yesterday.
One reported accident in the county yesterday and that accident took place on 49 South near the Fairgrounds during the later morning hours that involved minor injuries.
The caller from Cole Road had questions about a ferret.
A cat that bit someone on Farfala Circle was sent to Impound.
On Indian Peak Road an animal was causing problems.
On Banderilla Drive during the later morning hours a barking dog violation was handed to the owner(s) of a barking dog.
A dog was contained on the 49 and sent to Impound.
During the afternoon hours over on Old Highway near Cathey's Valley
a horse was out on the road.
The caller from Indian Peak Road had issues with a barking dog and another caller
from Indian Peak Road had issues with a stray cat.
A loose dog was running around Heritage Lane.
A feral cat was causing problems on Lozano Road.
During the evening hours a barking dog on East Whitlock Road was driving the neighbors to the edge.
(Just one of those animal days that happen in the county every once in awhile.)
During the noon hour a truant/walk away was reported from Jones Street.
During the late afternoon hours someone was trespassing on La Rosa Road.
And Finally, On Hospital Road during the evening hours someone was reported
 to be drunk in public.
(Stay in the house.)
Three fellows and one lady were booked yesterday in the county under lock and key for various offenses including Possession of a Controlled Substance, Willful Cruelty to a Child and Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor.


Monday, April 12, 2010
No reported fires in the county yesterday.
Multiple accidents were reported in the county yesterday as the rain came down along with snow in the higher elevations of the county.
The first reported accident occurred during the later morning hours near the intersection of 10th Street and Jones where two vehicles collided. During the afternoon hours near Meadow Lane and Triangle Road it was a vehicle versus a building. Down on the 140 near Briceburg during the afternoon hours an accident involved property damage.
Weather problems had a bus stuck on 49 South, a stuck motorhome and other vehicles were on the 41 near Fish Camp.
During the noon hour malicious mischief was reported
from 10th Street in Mariposa.
A stray dog was hanging out at the Oaks in Cathey's Valley.
An assault and battery that took place on Watt Road had someone going
to the pokey for awhile.
During the early evening hours someone on Triangle Road who was refusing
 to leave and also making threats had the sheriff arrive and take him to jail where he could stay awhile.
On Darrah Road a loud off road vehicle was making loud noises during
the evening hours.
And Finally, A caller from Highway 140 down near the Merced River Canyon reported rocks the size of 'Dogs' on the roadway.
(Big Dogs or Tiny Dogs?)
Two fellows and one lady were booked yesterday in the county under lock and key for various offenses including DUI, Threatening a Crime and Battery with Serious Bodily Injury.

No reported fires in the county yesterday.
Two reported accidents in the county yesterday with the first accident taking place on Carter Road during the later morning hours. The second reported accident was on Ben Hur Road during the afternoon hours.
During the very early morning hours a suspicious person was observed in the area of the 49'er bar in Mariposa. Also during the very early morning hours suspicious circumstances that were occurring on Silva Road had someone getting a free ride to the pokey.
Someone left a vehicle at the Oaks in Cathey's Valley.
(Yes, gas is going back up!)
A caller from Merced Falls Road reported that someone may be poaching.
During the afternoon hours the caller from Yosemite West said
they needed a snowplow.
And Finally, On Schilling Road a problem was occurring over an easement.

Two fellows and two ladies were booked yesterday in the county under lock and key for various offenses including DUI, Disorderly Conduct and Under the Influence of a Controlled Substance.

One fire was reported in the county yesterday and that fire took place at
Barrett's Cove during the afternoon hours.
One reported accident in the county yesterday and that accident took
place during the late evening hours on 49 North near French Camp Road
where a vehicle hit a bear.
(No, not the Mariposa Bear.)
A dead raccoon was on Coakley Circle.
Three loose Pomeranians were out running around the 132 near Coulterville.
(Hope they do not end up like the raccoon!)
Vandalism was reported from Foresta Road.
Burglaries were reported from Cuneo Road, La Rosa Road and on Usona Road.
Also a caller from Usona Road reported the theft of appliances.
Someone in Mariposa reported an Internet scam.
On Foresta Road a couple of neighbors were having a dispute and on Mount Ophir Road the caller reported someone violating a court order
A suspicious person was on Ridge Top Road during the later morning hours.
During the noon hour the caller from Burger King reported
needing a citizens assist.
(Have their burgers gotten that big?)
Someone was being harassed at McCabe Flat.
(And it is not even Summer.)
And Finally, Someone was reported to be climbing on the Ferguson Rock Slide
in the Merced River Canyon.
(Could possibly bring the whole mountain side down!)

No reported fires in the county yesterday.
One reported accident in the county yesterday and that accident took place on 49 South during the afternoon hours where a motorcycle was down on the ground by the Mariposa Coffee Company.
During the morning commute hours loose horses were out running
around Triangle Road.
(Did you ever ride a horse to work?)
On Best Road someone found someone's abandoned property.
Grand theft was reported from Sherlock Road.
During the evening hours the sheriff department received a call about vandalism in progress at McCabe Flat.
Someone was being harassed on Castano Way.
And Finally, During the evening hours shots were heard on Streeter Mountain.
(Probably just filling the freezer for summertime BBQ's.)
Five fellows were booked yesterday in the county under lock and key for various offenses including DUI, Divers License Suspended, Threatening a Crime and Plant/Etc. Marijuana.

One reported fire in the county yesterday and that fire was reported as a propane fire on Wass Road during the early evening hours.
One reported accident in the county yesterday and that accident was a hit and run at Pioneer Market during the afternoon hours.
A puppy was lost on Rancho Vista Drive.
A sick bobcat was noticed on Usona Road.
A injured wild turkey was on Rainbow Road.
Lost children were reported on Merced Falls Road.
Forgery was reported from Yosemite Bank.
Suspicious circumstances were observed on East Whitlock Road during the noon hour then on Silva Road during the early afternoon hours, also somewhere on the 49 near Mariposa and out on Indian Peak Road.
(Wow, what a suspicious day in the county.)
During the noon hour someone was making threats on Darrah Road.
An assault and battery was reported from Quail Lane with someone getting a
free ride to the county jail.
A couple of neighbors were having a dispute on Oak Road.
And Finally, A caller from Yaqui Gulch Road reported a burglary during the afternoon hours then during the evening hours a caller reported that burglar suspects were on foot on Yaqui Gulch Road.
(Possibly the same suspects?)

Spouse/Co-Habitant.


Wednesday, April 7, 2010
No reported accidents or fires in the county yesterday.
A turkey was on Jessie Street.
(And the problem is?)
A loose dog that was running around Colorado Road was causing problems.
During the early morning hours suspicious circumstances were
taking place on Watt Road and then during the later afternoon hours on the
132 near Lake Don Pedro.
A suspicious vehicle was noticed on Torito Road during the noon hour.
Over on McNally Road, dogs that were in a livestock pen were
given a lift to Impound.
The sheriff department was out on Yaqui Gulch Road doing a
follow- up report about a duck.
A vehicle was vandalized somewhere on the 49 near Mariposa.
The caller from Dexter View lane reported the theft of food.
Possible attempted fraud was reported from Tavis Road.
A couple of neighbors on Darrah Road were going round and round
about something or other.
During the early evening hours a dog was locked in a car on 5th Street.
And Finally, Those 'Skateboarders' were at it again. This time they were doing
something around the school district offices during the afternoon hours.
(Possibly trying to get educated?)

No reported fires in the county yesterday.
One reported accident in the county yesterday and that accident took place during the afternoon commute hours near the intersection of the 140 and Foresta Road where a vehicle rolled over and Medi Flight was called to the scene.
Over on Texas Hill Road a loose dog was causing problems.
On the Mount Bullion Cut-Off Road someone was shooting paintballs.
(Is school out this week?)
A resident on Clouds Rest Road reported identity theft.
The caller from Darrah Road had questions about trespassing.
(Easy: Don't do it)
During the evening hours someone was having a disturbing party
on Broadway Street.
Also during the evening hours suspicious circumstances were observed on
Main Street in Coulterville.
The caller from Indian Peak Road reported an attempted burglary.
And Finally, A barking dog at two in the morning on Varain Road was driving the neighbors to the edge and then during the evening hours another call came into dispatch about a barking dog on Varain Road.
(Coincidence or Mariposa strange happenings?)
For yet another day no one was booked in the county yesterday as everyone
was enjoying the weather.

 


Monday, April 5, 2010
No reported fires in the county yesterday.
Multiple reported accidents in the county yesterday as the roads in the higher elevations were snow covered during the morning hours. During the morning hours accidents were reported from East Whitlock Road where a vehicle went over the embankment and Triangle Road near the 140. There was also a reported accident on Triangle Road during the afternoon hours that also involved property damage. During the early evening hours a accident was reported from Sunset Drive.
Rocks, mud and dirt were covering a part of 49 North near Bagby during the early morning hours and a large boulder was on the 140 near the Octagon during the later morning hours that would require CalTrans to move it.
On Ernst Road a dachshund was reported as lost.
On Darrah Road a dog returned home.
(Good news.)
A resident from Chicharra Way reported a sick fox in the yard.
Someone was reported to be shooting unsafely on Granite Springs Road.
On Windy Hollow Road the neighbors were causing a disturbance
during the afternoon hours.
The sheriff department was asked to check on the
 welfare of a dog on Varain Road.
Loose goats were out running around Sierra Drive and out on the Hunters Valley Access Road a couple of loose donkeys were on the loose.
Someone's pipe was broken on the 140 near Cathey's Valley.
And Finally, At Woodland School an elevator alarm went off yesterday.
(Question of the day. How many elevators are there in Mariposa County?
Not counting private residences or shoes!)
No one was booked in the county yesterday as everyone
was enjoying the weather.

No reported accidents or fires in the county yesterday as everyone was
practicing safety on Easter.
A stray Rottweiler was out wandering around Scott Road.
(Possibly looking for a stray hidden Easter egg or two?)
Vandalism was reported from Jacksonville Road and possible vandalism was
reported from Darrah Road.
During the evening hours a burglary was reported from Triangle Road.
Also during the evening hours someone was reported to be drunk in public on Triangle Road and then a while later a call came in to dispatch about someone on Triangle Road reportedly shooting unsafely.
(Just a Coincidence?)
The caller from 7th Street reported a phone scam.
On Texas Hill Road it was a case of dog versus dog.
And Finally, On Carrillo Way the caller reported some kittens for Impound.
(As Bob Barker says "Spay and neuter your pets.")
No one was booked in the county yesterday as most everyone
was enjoying Easter.

One reported fire/smoke call in the county yesterday and that call was from someone who spotted smoke on Burney Drive during the early evening hours.
Two reported accidents in the county yesterday and the first accident occurred on Darrah Road near the intersection of 49 South during the early morning hours that involved minor injuries. The second accident took place on Varain Road during the evening hours.
On Hidalgo Street a dog was on the road.
Two lost dogs were reported from Oak Road and a Chihuahua was
lost on Evergreen Road.
During the Midnight hour a resident on Sebastopol Road reported
receiving harassing phone calls.
During the morning hours suspicious circumstances were observed on Ranchito Drive and then during the evening hours a suspicious vehicle was noticed on Jerseydale Road and later on Usona Road.
Also on Usona Road a burglary was reported during the afternoon hours.
During the evening hours someone was being harassed on Coakley Circle.
Someone must have had a birthday on Holtzel Road as LOUD music was reported during the evening hours.
A barking dog during the evening hours near the intersection of Foran and East Whitlock Road was driving the neighbors over the edge.
And Finally, On Enramada Drive someone was reported as shooting unsafely
during the afternoon hours.
(You never quite know where that bullet is going to ricochet to and change your Mariposa County lifestyle.)

Friday, April 2, 2010
One reported fire in the county yesterday and that fire was reported
 as a chimney fire on Old Highway South near Catheys Valley
during the evening hours.
One reported accident to the sheriff department yesterday and that accident
occurred during the late afternoon hours on Smith Station Road that
involved minor injures.
The CHP reported a vehicle versus a rock on the 140 near Foresta Road during the evening commute hours. Also the CHP reported an accident on the 140 near Bull Creek Road during the evening commute hours. No injuries were reported in either accident.
A dog was found on Wass Road and a dog was lost on Sebastopol Road.
During the later morning hours someone was trespassing on
Mariposa Creek Circle.
Credit card fraud was reported from the Pioneer Market.
And Finally, Vandalism was reported from the Assessors Office, on the 132 near Coulterville and on Darrah Road.
(And it was not even a full moon yesterday.)

One reported fire in the county yesterday and that fire was reported as a 'Smoky' burn pile on Bullion Street during the afternoon hours.
Three reported accidents to the sheriff department yesterday with the first reported accident occurring during the later morning hours on the 140 near Yaqui Gulch Road that involved two vehicles with no reported injuries. The second reported accident took place at the Mariposa County High School during the afternoon hours that also involved property damage. The third reported accident took place during the evening hours on the 140 near Briceburg that also involved property damage and no reported injuries.
During the morning hours trespassing was reported from Bullion Street.
Vandalism was reported from the Arts Park and on 49 North near Mariposa.
Loitering was also reported from the Arts Park.
An assault was reported from Wilburs Way.
During the afternoon hours suspicious circumstances were observed on Rancheria Creek Road and also on the 140 near Cathey's Valley during the evening hours.
And Finally, The caller from Indian Peak Road reported a propane leak.
(Liquid Gold escaping into the air. Take a squirt bottle filled with liquid dish soap
 and water. Then spray the connections on your propane tank.
If you see any bubbles you have a leak.)
