During the later morning hours suspicious circumstances were observed on

During the afternoon hours a man was noticed laying on the
132 near La Grange.
Those 'Skateboarders' were doing something or other at West America Bank.

On Deer Run Road during the evening hours someone was refusing to leave.

A Chihuahua was found on
McCay Road.
A vehicle was vandalized on 7th Street.
At one in the morning a domestic dispute at the Miners Inn resulted in an
individual getting a ride to the pokey for awhile.
During the later morning hours a suspicious vehicle was observed
on Wagner Ridge Road.
Vandalism was reported from Greeley Hill.
On Parambelle Road a couple of neighbors were not quite seeing eye to eye.
(That road had a similar problem in Thursday's Sheriff Report.
Better call in a Mediator.)
On Forest Drive in Fish Camp someone was parking illegally.
Also in Fish Camp on Summit Road people were sledding onto the road.
An attempted assault was reported from Windy Hollow Road.
A few hours later another call came in from Windy Hollow Road about
someone not obeying a court order.
During the late afternoon hours someone was trespassing on Telegraph Road.
Someone was trespassing and driving recklessly at the Cemetery in
Coulterville.

cemetery in Coulterville and then in Mariposa.)

One reported accident to the CHP yesterday and that accident took
place during the early afternoon hours near the intersection of Jessie
Street and Coakley Street with no resulting injuries.
Two loose dogs that were out exploring on Colorado Road were
given a ride to Impound.
A few hours later a call came in from Colorado Road from someone
reporting missing dogs.
(Coincidence?)
A burglary was reported from Old Highway Road near Catheys Valley.
Identity theft was reported from Paquala Springs Road.
A resident on Watt Road reported receiving threats.
Civil property issues were taking place on Greeley Hill Road.
Grand theft was reported from Ashworth Road.
During the afternoon hours someone was trespassing on Stroming Road.
Suspicious circumstances that were taking place out on East Whitlock Road
resulted in an individual getting a free ride to the pokey.
Suspicious circumstances were reported from Leaning Pine Way during the very
early evening hours.
During the late evening hours, suspicious people were observed
hanging around the Oaks.
And Finally, An injured Chihuahua was found on Buffalo Gulch
Road.

During the morning hours a suspicious person was near the
high school in Mariposa.

littering and the second was about a skateboard ramp on the road.

Someone abandoned a Boxer on Boyer Road.

During the very early morning hours a suspicious vehicle was observed on
Watt Road and then during the evening hours a suspicious vehicle was
noticed on Josephina Road.
Also suspicious circumstances were taking place on Hernandez Drive
during the evening hours.
An attempted burglary was reported from the Fairgrounds and a burglary was
reported from the 140 near Catheys Valley.
On 49 North near Coulterville, cattle were being chased by a Quad.
On Memory Lane a fence was vandalized.
A wire was down near the intersection of Dolorosa and Mojica Roads.
During the afternoon hours a physical disturbance was reported
from the Stage Stop.
And Finally, The caller from Ponds Way reported LOUD music during the
afternoon hours and then during the evening hours another call came in from
Ponds Way about LOUD music and other concerns.

One reported fire/smoke call in the county yesterday and that
call came in during the afternoon hours from Smith Station Road where the
caller reported smelling smoke.
One reported accident in the county yesterday and that call came in during
the evening hours from Ashworth Road near 49 South that turned out not to be
an accident.
It was just someone stuck in the some mud.
An abandoned dog that was left at the Mariposa SPCA was sent to Impound.
Scams are becoming a common call in the county as the following calls were
all about scams. The caller from the 132 reported a scam and also a caller
from Colorado Road reported a scam.
Someone was trespassing on Miller Road.
A burglary was reported on Golden Oaks Road.
During the afternoon hours, explosions were heard from Lakeside Drive.
Also during the afternoon hours a suspicious vehicle was noticed on the 132
near Coulterville and a suspicious person was at the Oaks in Catheys Valley.
And Finally, During the evening commute hours on 49 South several people
were observed on the side of the highway standing around a deer that
had been hit by a vehicle.
(Be VERY careful around a injured deer, also be VERY careful if you are on
the side of a highway where cars may possibly be traveling the speed limit)
Ten fellows were arrested yesterday in the county under lock and key
for various offenses including eight of those individuals for Cruelty to Animals.
The other two fellows were under lock and key for various offenses including
DUI and Under the Influence of a Controlled Substance.

Mariposa County Sheriff’s Office received an anonymous
report of a cock-fighting event that was taking place at
a private residence on Heritage Lane in Mariposa County.

No reported accidents or fires in the county yesterday as most folks were
being safe at home watching Peyton Manning win another football game.
One reported incident occurred during the morning hours on the William Sell
Bridge as a bumper was found on the bridge that led to speculation that a
vehicle went over the side of the bridge. After searches were performed
around the bridge it was determined that there was not a vehicle under the
bridge. A part of the guard rail had markings from a vehicle striking it but
no damage to the guard rail took place.
A black Labrador was found on Sherlock Road.
Power was out in the Ponderosa Basin area yesterday afternoon.
On Mount Ophir Road a neighbor trespassing issue was taking place.
Animal cruelty was reported from Heritage Lane.
During the noon hour an employee fight was occurring on Henness Creek Road.
Someone was being harassed on Dexter Road.
During the afternoon hours a suspicious vehicle was observed at the
Oaks in Catheys Valley and suspicious circumstances were
taking place out on Banderilla Drive.
Also a suspicious person who was on the 140 near the Mount Bullion Cut-Off
Road
was sent to the big house for awhile.
And Finally, Road rage was reported on the Greeley Hill Road
during the afternoon hours.

second reported fire was also during the evening hours out on Ben Hur Road.

taking place on Cuneo Road during the morning hours where a vehicle was
overturned with no reported injuries according to the CHP. The second
reported accident was on Jerseydale Road during the evening hours where a
vehicle tangled with a tree.

The caller from Schoolhouse Road reported the unauthorized use
of a credit card.
Someone from Hornitos called in with questions about a rabies clinic.
At the 49'er Market, gas was leaking from a vehicle.

reported accident took place during the morning commute hours up in
Jerseydale where a car was blocking the road on Cedar Lane near Snyder Creek
Road.
A dog was reported missing on Bronco Hollow Road.
Just after Midnight a domestic dispute was taking place on Saint
Andrews Road.
During the morning hours someone was shooting on Banderilla Road.

At the Spring Hill High School an out of control 'Juvenile' was given a free
ride to the county facility where 'Juveniles' go while wearing metal
bracelets.

closed to boaters, a houseboat needed assisting on Lake McClure, on the 140

Stonecrest Drive.

place during the noon hour on Darrah Road near Owl Creek Road that had no

according to the CHP but the person was pinned in the vehicle. The second
reported accident took place during the evening hours on Jerseydale Road
near Scott Road where a vehicle went off of the roadway with no resulting
injuries according to the CHP.
Someone from Stockton Creek Road returned a puppy.
During the later morning hours someone was trespassing
at Spring Hill High School.
Someone stole a 'Davit' at the Houseboat Yard.

On Pinecrest Drive during the noon hour a civil
dispute was taking place.
A street lamp was broken on Park Lane in Coulterville.

On 49 South, someone who was refusing to leave had the sheriff arrive and

early and accelerated during the day as the rain came down and the wind
blew.
Morning hours: Someone from Hirsch Road had an inquiry about a power
outage, on Oak Grove School Road a person was dependent on Oxygen, rocks
were reported on the 140 near Incline Road and the ceiling was falling in at
the Gold Coin (No Way).
The noon hour: A tree was on Ernst Road, a power line was down on
Milbrow Lane, a boulder was near the Bagby Bridge, Lozano Road and Silver
Bar Road had trees on the road, the 140 was reported closed in Catheys
Valley as a large tree was on the road near Trower Road, on 49 North near
Pendola Gardens Road a roof blew off a house, the 140 at Bull Creek had
rocks on the road, Villarreal Drive had power lines on the road, Mormon Bar
Road Crossing was closed and a vehicle was without chains on Darrah Road and
was attempting to chain up and had the roadway blocked.
Afternoon hours: Darrah Road at Snow Creek Road had multiple vehicles
sliding around, Greeley Hill Road was blocked by a tree near the
Priest Coulterville Road, Bear Valley Road was being blocked by a
tree, a plow was requested in the Foresta area, another tree was on Bear
Valley Road and a tree was on Triangle Road near the Lushmeadows Store and
also on Usona Road and a power outage was reported in the Mariposa area.
Evening hours: Trees were down on
Exchequer
Road and Schilling Road, a boulder was laying on Old Highway Road and
Granite Springs Road was reported flooded.

taking place on the 140 near Catheys Valley.

A school bus was involved with something during the morning hours with
no reported injuries. During the afternoon hours a rock slide on 49 North
near Bagby was blocking one lane. During the evening hours: 49 North at
French Camp Road was reported to be very slick, also a 1/2" of snow was
reported on the road in Midpines, a rock slide on the 140 near the Octagon,
at Triangle Road and the 140 two vehicles slid off of the road, the 140 at
Bull Creek Road had rocks on the roadway, the 140 at Martin Road had very
large rocks on the roadway and Jerseydale Road was also reported to have
slick slush on the road.
And Finally, The caller from Highway 49 reported a lost wallet that was made
with camouflaged material.

vehicle was off of the road.

(With the condition of that road it was possibly a vehicle part, maybe a

During the afternoon hours a transformer blew on 6th Street.
During the late evening hours a dog that was barking on Charles Street was
keeping the neighbors from getting their required sleep.
Someone was making threats on Penon Blanco Road during the
later morning hours.

Merced Falls Road, on Coachman Road a tree fell onto a roof, near Sherlock
and Telegraph Road a tree was laying on the road, Stroming Road was reported

the 140 near Savages Trading Post. Evening hours: A rockslide on the 140
near El Portal that possibly involved a vehicle and a tree was down on Boyer

taking place out on Dogtown Road near Bondurant Road during the early
evening hours where a vehicle hit a bridge and tore up the bridge railing.
The second reported accident took place during the evening hours on Bear
Valley Road near Hornitos Road where a vehicle went into a tree with an
ambulance responding to the scene.
During the early morning hours an assault and battery was reported from the
Miners Inn.
(Just like Oprah said, nothing good happens after Midnight)
On Creekview Road at four in the morning, someone was refusing to leave.
The caller from Lillian Lane reported a scam.
The caller from West Whitlock Road reported an ongoing
garbage dumping problem.

During the afternoon hours a trespassing problem was taking
place on Cedar Lane.
Flooding was reported on Campbell Way.
And Finally, During the later afternoon hours rocks measuring 3x4 feet were
laying on the 140 in the Merced River Canyon.

lots of slides all over the county. Drive slow and careful, you never know

reported as a possible brush fire on Sullivan Road during the afternoon
hours.

The CHP reported that during the evening hours on the 140 near the Yosemite
View Lodge that large boulders weighing between 200-300 pounds were laying
on the roadway and CalTrans was called in with a loader to remove the rock.
A stray dog was running around Guadalupe Creek Road.
A caller from near the intersection of Triangle Road and Triangle Park Road
reported that a UPS truck hit his garage during the later morning hours.
During the morning hours a caller from Wilburs Way reported that a truck
was at a foreclosed home and it looked suspicious.
During the later morning hours suspicious circumstances were
observed on Ashworth Road.
A burglary was reported on Blacks Creek Road.
Vandalism was reported from Saint Andrews Road.
During the early evening hours a suspicious vehicle was
noticed on Penon Blanco Road.

During the later morning hours a caller from Sherrod Road reported

During the afternoon hours someone was shooting from a vehicle
on Southbound 49.

being very careful.
During the morning hours seven cows were out having a meeting
near the intersection of 49 North and Bear Valley Road.
Petty theft was reported from Usona Road.
Someone in North County is missing a trailer.
From Sierra Pines Drive the caller reported the theft of medication.
Over in Coulterville in the old Chinatown area a couple of
neighbors were agreeing to disagree.
A shoplifter was being held at Pioneer Market.
During the early evening hours boaters were reported lost on Lake Don Pedro.
Someone was driving recklessly at Rite Aid.
(Possibly making the parking lot a Gymkhana?)
And Finally, During the afternoon hours someone on Yaqui Gulch Road was
playing LOUD offensive music.

During the late afternoon hours suspicious circumstances were
observed on Red Flat Road.
A caller from Grist Road reported mail tampering.
Must have been a birthday on Usona Road as fireworks
were being lit off.
And Finally, There was a 'Skateboarder' on Greeley Hill Road during
the late morning hours.

as everyone was
being very careful.
During the evening hours a horse was out running around Triangle
Road.
Also during the late evening hours a prowler was reported on Tip Top Road.
(The old miners had a code that during the night if you came to close to
their
house and did not call out, they would shoot you!)
During the midnight hour someone was reported to be driving recklessly
on Crown Lead Road.
During the 3:00 A.M. hour a dog that was barking on 10th Street had
the neighbors in a dither.
Petty theft was reported from Miwuk Road.
A resident on Grillo Drive reported an Internet scam.
On Greeley Hill Road a caller reported that raccoons were under the house.
And Finally, During the early morning hours the caller from 49 North near
Mariposa reported the Mariposa Bear was under the deck.
(Wake up, I think there is a bear under the deck.
Go back to sleep it's probably only raccoons.)

No reported fires in the county yesterday.
Two reported accidents in the county yesterday with the first accident
taking place during the morning commute hours on the 140 near the Octagon
where a vehicle took out about fifteen feet of guardrail with no resulting
injuries. The second accident was reported during the noon hour in Mariposa
on the 140 near 12th Street where an automobile and a truck tangled up with
no reported injuries.
Loose Longhorns were out running around Bear Valley Road.
On Colorado Road someone found a place to dump their junk so a county worker
could pick it up.
(Way, back last year the county said they were coming up with a plan to
combat this type of dumping. We are still waiting to hear the details.)
Petty theft was reported from Sierra Pines Road.
Vandalism was reported on Ben Hur Road.
During the afternoon hours suspicious vehicles were
observed on Dogtown Road.
Also during the afternoon hours suspicious circumstances were
observed on Kokanee Road.
And Finally, Elder abuse was reported from Greeley Hill Road.

suspect any abuse.)

Grand theft was reported from Rasto Way.
During the noon hour truant/walkaways were reported
from Spring Hill High School.
Also during the noon hour a Pitbull was out running around at the
County Park in Mariposa.
And Finally, The Mariposa Bear was causing some sort of problems
on 49 North during the noon hour.

During the morning hours suspicious circumstances were reported
at the Top Shoppe.
A suspicious person was observed during the afternoon hours on
Old Highway Road near Mariposa.
A resident on Usona Road had concerns about an animal.
Trespassing was reported on Colorado Road.
A burglary was reported from Old Highway Road.
Vandalism was reported from Mountain Way and on Allen Court.
A dog that was 'Nipping' on Princeton Way was sent to Impound and a dog that
bit someone on Totokon Road was also sent to Impound.
A caller reported skinny horses out on Ben Hur Road.
During the late evening hours malicious mischief was reported
from Yaqui Gulch Road.
And Finally, During the evening hours someone was having issues with a skunk
on Hospital Road.

One reported fire in the county yesterday and that fire was reported as a
out of control burn pile on the 140 near Mariposa during the afternoon
hours.
One reported accident in the county yesterday and that accident took place
during the very late evening hours on 49 near Mariposa.
At 5:30 in the morning a suspicious person was observed on 5th Street in
Mariposa and again during the evening the same call came was received by the
sheriff department. Also a suspicious person was noticed on Boyer Road
during the evening hours.
Theft of fuel was reported from the Lake McSwain Toll Gate.
A man was yelling on the 140.
On Stout Lane someone was being harassed.
The rest rooms were reported as vandalized at the Rest Stop in Mariposa.
The caller from Zelma Way reported finding a horse.
The caller from Coronado Drive reported a lost horse.

And Finally, The Sheriff was called out to Hospital Road to
settle a dispute over laundry.

One reported accident in the
county yesterday and that accident took place on Greeley Hill Road during
the later morning hours.
A stray Labrador was found on Old Highway South Road.
Lot of folks at the Snow Play area near Fish Camp yesterday and some
of them were trespassing as calls came in from the Post Office in Fish Camp
and Cedar Avenue.
During the afternoon hours a suspicious person was observed
on Fairgrounds Road and suspicious circumstances were
reported from Triangle Road.
Vandalism was reported from the high school in Mariposa.
A missing black Labrador was reported from Rainbow View Road.
(Hopefully not shot like the report from that road last month.)
Again it must have been someone's birthday on Darrah Road as another report
came in of someone launching fireworks.
During the early evening hours someone who was causing a verbal disturbance
on Saint Andrews Road had a free lift to the county lock-up for awhile.
Someone on Ashworth Road was reported to be drunk in public.
And Finally, a caller requested a welfare check on a few dogs on Darrah
Road.

Two reported accidents in the county yesterday with the first reported
accident taking place on Old Highway near Marshall Road during the later
morning hours that involved a solo vehicle and no injuries according to the
CHP. The second reported accident took place during the evening hours on the
140 near Bull Creek Road where a vehicle tangled with a rock that required a
tow truck to come to the scene. No reported injuries in that accident
according to the CHP.
During the very early morning hours someone who was playing music
on Schoolhouse Road was given a free ride to the county lock-up.

Also during the very early morning hours, suspicious circumstances were
observed
at Mother Lode Lumber and later during the day on Wildcat Road
and on Owl Creek Road.
Petty theft was reported from Mount Ophir Road.
On Rainbow View Road a burro was injured by dogs.
A Chihuahua was found on Hirsch Road.

(Not the Mariposa Bear. He is not a nuisance.)
A call came in during the afternoon hours for a plow in Yosemite West.
Someone was playing loud music on Smith Road.
During the early evening hours Search and Rescue was called out to the
Jerseydale area to look for lost dirt bikers.
Must have been someone's birthday on Darrah Road as fireworks were set off.
And Finally, Over on White Chief Mountain Road a call came in
about 'Sledders' sledding onto Highway 41.

during the evening hours from Indian Peak Road where the caller was
concerned about a bon fire.
One reported accident in the county yesterday and that accident was reported
during the morning hours on 49 North near Bear Valley Road where a solo
vehicle crashed.
A loose dog was out running around on Hirsch Road.
During the very early morning hours a burglary was reported on Silver Bar
Road and during the afternoon hours a possible burglary was reported from
Yaqui Gulch Road.
Grand theft and vandalism was reported from Hunters Valley Road.
On 49 North a loose cow was out running around on someone's property.
During the afternoon hours suspicious circumstances were observed on
Chowchilla Mountain Road, Peg Leg Road and Guadalupe Creek Road.
During the evening hours shooting was heard on Usona Road.

from Saint Andrews Road.
