Springtime Flowers in the California foothills

Emerging from a purple cocoon these flowers turn
a gorgeous yellow with small red tattoos on
them to attract the pollinators with their
long beaks or hairy legs !

Highway 140 East of Briceburg still closed as of this post due to a massive rock slide. Yosemite is still accessible through Highway 120 from Groveland or Highway 41 from Oakhurst.

And all of us who reside in small towns, not just the foothill communities, need to watch the future of Tuolumne General Hospital in Sonora
as it has major financial problems and the citizens try to keep it open :

Another new page has been added under the Out and About section. It is a section for Groveland,California!

http://www.goldrushcam.com/goldrushcam__out_and_about_in_gr.htm

Groveland is on the way to Yosemite on the 120. Also reachable from Greeley Hill / Coulterville area by heading East on J 20 to the 120 junction then turning left to head into Groveland.

Watch soon for the Goldrushcam Crew to head up to the Groveland area for a photo day and maybe a gold panning/ detecting trip.
