Wow. Right at 75 degrees already this morning as of this posting time.
Think it is going to be hot today ?
How high will the Merced River rise in the next few days as these temps hold on to us ?
Everything is in bloom, but this heat will take a toll on these fragile blooms as they wilt under the heat. Good for tomatoes though 
The weeds are going to need a good whacking when it cools back down a little !
Off of the front page of the Goldrushcam:
A story on the Riverbank Wine and Cheese Festival as it enters it's 30th year.
I can remember it's first one ( I think !),
as it was one of the biggest festivals in the area.
Also a story of a bank robbery in San Andreas by a juvenile suspect who was caught in the cemetery !
And a story on Angels Camp as that famous Frog Jump takes shape for another year.
Question?
Why has no one from Mariposa won this frog jump yet? Are our frogs to small or slow to jump?
Maybe it is time for the Goldrushcam to sponsor a team and put the trophy in Mariposa County !

The Mariposa Gem and Mineral Club meets this Friday, May 19th at 7 PM.
The meeting is held at the California State Mining and Mineral Museum at the Mariposa Fairgrounds.
Topic for the meeting is a “Mystery”. So to find out you will have to attend. Come join us in an informative and fun evening.
Public is welcome to attend. We hope that you will come join us.
Come to the meeting and sign-up, or go to the gem shop in Mariposa ,or e-mail the Goldrushcam for an appilcation because on the Saturday after the meeting the club is going out looking for Gold !!

Before the meeting Friday will be a TAIL GATE PARTY where people will be selling rocks and things. Starts at 5:00 PM The public is invited to attend. NO CHARGE FOR ADMISSION!!!!! |
