Keith sent in a great photo of Vernal Fall in
Yosemite National Park with two rainbows !
Looking at the amount of water coming over
this fall a trip to Yosemite has to be in the plans!
Thanks for the photo Keith S.

Well it did not get quite as hot yesterday as was in the forecast from NOAA, but the humidity made the air feel a little tacky.
A few rumblings came out of the clouds forming over Yosemite in the afternoon hours but no rain.

Highway 140 still closed and now Cal Trans says at least till May 24th as the mountain side is very unstable !!

Off of the Goldrushcam Front Page:

A Mariposa man died while hiking down in Southern California, proving once again we have to really watch ourselves when we are out there hiking around. Be very carefull around ledges and edges of anything !!

Yosemite National Park has a sister park in China.

Wal-Mart is holding a forum in Merced to tell the people how good it will be for them to come to town with a huge distribution center that will provide 900 jobs paying 13 to 14 dollars and hour.

Plus a reminder, if you know of any upcoming community events that you want mentioned on the Goldrushcam, just e-mail them to us or post it right here and we will then put it in our "Out and About" section !!

Keith is a really good photographer that likes to go to Yosemite as often as he can.
He hikes all over Yosemite and looks for interesting things to photograph.
Which seems quite often with the amount of photos he e-mails around.
