From the frontpage of the Goldrushcam: Mariposa might declare a state of emergency for the 140 being shut down so long. Now the state is saying May 29th !! The funeral is today for Ian Cambell Jr., the young boy who was on his skateboard and had a car run over him. A Sad day and our thoughts are with his family. Give your children an extra hug as they run out of the house today. Also an article about the high school exit exam with a sample test. Take it and see if you can pass high school with a diploma !! Well, "trading" and "investing" are two different beasts. So, I really couldn't offer much advice as to a persons long term investments in the market, except to note that "in the long run" the market has continued to move up. As far as trading, I favor a bear market over a bull market. A falling stock tends to fall much faster then a rising stock. But all in all it really doesn't matter which way the market moves, as a trader, as long as it moves! Low volume and tight ranges, such as what summer tends to offer always makes things tougher. Although, some summers have been active, but that was generally related to "extreme" geopolitical occurances. Otherwise, the big money folks go on vacation Similar to lunch during the market day. Market Makers go to lunch and the market moves sideways for a few hours til they get back. The market is not rational. Folks try to beat the market by attempting to learn all they can about it. Others try to interpret news events and try to make their decision based on how they "believe" the stock or market should move. I have seen them come and go. Its a tough way to make an easy living. If anyone is interesting in "trading" then I recommend "Trading In The Zone." I have read hundreds of stock related books.. and I only ever recommend 2 books to people. This is the 1st one. Without understanding it nothing else I can tell people will make sense. Good luck folks
