California Poppy

The California State Flower, the Poppy
grows wild in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada
above the Central Valley.
Hillsides can be seen covered like an
orange carpet with these gorgeous wildflowers !

What a gorgeous day it has been !!
Windy,rainy, a day to be inside looking out !
It has been almost a month since the last good rain we have had, so sit back and enjoy the pitter patter of the rain drops.
So far almost a half inch of rain with more on the way during the night.

Two feet of snow is in the forecast for the very high country, possibly slowing down the road crews on Tioga Pass.

A great story from the S.F. Chronicle on clearing the snow from Sonora Pass, Ebbets Pass and of course Tioga Pass.

A good story from the Modesto Bee about a author who claims their were two Joaquin Murrieta's !!

Also a good story from the Sonora Union Democrat on the frog jump of 1934 in Angels Camp.
