Just a message for what is is worth.
This year so far I have seen the most snakes in my limited time living in the mountains. If this is any indication of how the summer is going to go, watch where you walk, carry a walking stick and use it ahead of your steps, kick whatever you are going to pick up first and watch where you put your hands if climbing.

Mariposa Traffic
With the Main Hwy entrance to Yosemite blocked
(by the rockslide, outside of town)
and high gas prices, traffic in Mariposa
is kind of slow.
I just hate all the horse poop in the street....but, we are surviving.

Hi there Anonymous,
after following the Mariposa Wagon Train all day, yes there is horse **** all down some of the back roads and Highway 49 South in the Northbound direction.
But next year the Goldrushcam Crew might join the wagon train for a few nights out, on and near Chowchilla Mountain !
