Standing on top of Ferguson Ridge looking East up
the Merced River Canyon on a very hazy hot
and dry summer afternoon, El Capitan in
Yosemite National Park can barely be seen !

Author Message Jerry Posted on Friday, June 23, 2006 - 8:14 am:    El Capitan is up near the white clouds in the photograph. The Goldrushcam Crew will venture back up there in the fall (after a few rains and the air clears) as the view is spectacular. The gulch in the far left of the photo is Ned's Gulch. To the right in the photo the first ridge is following the South Fork of the Merced River and is part of the ridge where John Hite discovered gold making Hite's Cove famous.
