Merced River Canyon

Looking down from Ferguson Ridge into the Merced
River Canyon the road bed for the one way controlled traffic
for Highway 140 travelers is on the far side of the river.
This road and bridge should be ready hopefully by July 15th !

Randy B has let us post another photo from Hull Creek up above Sonora along Highway 108.
Thanks Randy

Randy is also looking for OHV maps online that can be downloaded and then printed out. If you know of a site email us or post it here.

Thanks for the link. Not exactly what we are looking for. At OHV area they have little boxes in which they place their OHV trail maps.(however, they were empty last time I was there) They will be designated by color to show trail difficulty. I just have to stop by the ranger station. But, they close at 4:30 so sometimes I don't get there on time.

Sheeesh looking at that Clavey Meadow little waterfall has me wanting to head back!

I'm gonna tack some pics of the railroad trestle next weekend I think.. I'll be sure to send it in.

Hi Jerry, great shot, and clear too! As we talked about yesterday (Jerry can add to his list of accomplishments that he is now a judge of fine art!), the slide is well to the left of that photo. Or West, if you want to find it on a map. That shot is just about even with Savage's and the slide is just before the highway straightens out to go past the "geological exhibit". On a quad map, there is a tiny symbol for a spring, looks like a blue circle with a squiggly line coming out of it. You may need a magnifiying glass to see it! That's the spring that I believe has been referred to by experts.

The most recent slide photo available only from the Goldrushcam / Sierra Sun Times.
Fresh news not stale news.

We thank Mr. Glenn Bell (Information Officer for the Ferguson Slide)for providing us with this photo taken just 48 hours ago !

Jerry that photo looking down on the Ferguson Slide is awesome. I hope somebody was holding a safety rope when you took it. I bet you went up again right after you talked to Lori about how to get down there. You are something else!!! You are doing a great job!
