Basso Bridge,Sonora Photos,Sonora 2004

The old Basso Bridge spans the Tuolumne River outside of La Grange.
The bridge was replaced a few years ago by a newer bridge with less character.
This bridge was built in 1912 although the the plaque at the top of the bridge is dated 1911.
Apparently a Mr. Basso operated this bridge as a ferry to travelers headed to the gold fields.
