First Day Opening Of The Ferguson Slide Temporary Bridge In Mariposa County

With a little over 100 cars waiting in line to cross the
Ferguson Slide temporary bridge yesterday to get into
Yosemite National Park or El Portal, Caltrans had the
bridge ready to go !
Smiling faces were abundant as commuters, visitors
and bridge workers passed each other !

Watch for a special page of photos of the bridge, the slide, and the new temporary bridge crossing back over the Merced back to the 140.

Dave Lombard sent this photo to us of a view of the bridge from an airplane. The photo is looking north with the new road on the far side and heading East.

Thanks Dave for sharing this photo !!

Wow, good pictures. Thanks for the updates! How long was the wait?

It will be nice to be able to get into the park again, without having to go so far. I guess we can now look forward to seeing more Yosemite pictures from you again. I know I will be checking in often. Keep up the good work!
