Last Wednesday afternoon in Mariposa after school had
let out for the day, the restrooms at the Arts Park erupted
in flames destroying the restrooms. Apparently arson, the rumor
mill is rampant on who could have done this cold hearted act.
As John Walsh would say "Let us get this scumbag off the streets".
If you know who was involved with this please call the
Mariposa Sheriff Department at 209 - 966 - 3614.

Here is a photo they emailed of the only two buildings left standing at the site. The photo is taken from the mine looking back to the "town". The building on the right is the Barn, while the structure on the left was? Nobody is sure. Thanks for sharing the photo Annie and John. Yes, we are still putting together a photo article on this area. That will naturally have a story and many photos ! If you would like to be a tour guide or docent, training will be provided. Stamp mill operators, gold panners and clerical helpers are also needed. Call the museum at 966-2924 and tell them how you would like to help, or ask for more information. If you have the time they could really use some help. Very interesting place to visit.
