Butterfly in Mariposa County

It was 200 years ago today that Father Pedro Munoz,
a member of an exploration party, amazed at all the
butterflies in the area, named this place " Las Mariposas".
That is how this land we now call Mariposa was named.
Thanks Father Pedro Munoz for such a beautiful and appropriate name.
Also a big thanks to Tina Buirch for letting us use this photo
of a butterfly in Mariposa County.
