In business for over 50 years this establishment in Angels Camp is being demolished for progress ! Makes you love progress when you see something like this happen to someone's business and the employee's involved. Thanks for many years of memories Blondie as we have many photos of the kids sitting on the Green Frog Here are a couple links to articles that the Stockton Record has on their web site: http://www.recordnet.net/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20060512/NEWS01/605120322/1001 http://www.recordnet.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20061005/NEWS01/610050334/1001 |

What a party in was in Murphys yesterday as thousands of people turned out to celebrate Gold Rush Days. Wine tasting and wine stomping contests ruled the day under a perfect October sky. Live music by a band (that I forgot to get the name of) played all day long without taking a break as they played music from the 60's to the 80's. People danced in the street and tapped their feet as they walked among the many vendors that were there. After the fair, Train played at one of the wineries in the area while over at the Black Bart Playhouse a belly dancing contest was taking place !

Cathie from Colorado sent in a couple of photos from the live cam, just about as it was ready to turn off for the day, of a hummingbird at the feeder. Cathie is now entered in the contest for best capture off of the live camera. Read about the contest on the live cam page. We are working on a page to put some of the photos that have been sent into the Goldrushcam / Sierra Sun Times that are in the running for the best capture. Thanks for the photos Cathie and also the nice comments you wrote about our web site.
