The View From The Top Of The Penon Blanco Mine

Maybe you have seen this quartz outcropping on Highway
49 North just a few miles north from Coulterville.
This is the view from the top of this famous ledge,
The Penon Blanco Mine.
On this ridge one can find volcanic rock, milky quartz,
Mariposite, Serpentine and other minerals associated with gold.
A rock hounds delight !

Wow ! What gorgeous weather we are having !
Almost 80 degrees yesterday at 3,300 feet of elevation.

Over at the Penon Blanco Mine the temp had to be in the 80's.


What to do today ?


The Harvest Weekend continues through today.

The Mariposa Symphony kicks off season number 5 today.
