The First Schoolhouse in Catheys Valley, California

" Catheys Valley First Schoolhouse "

This is the outside of the original school in Catheys Valley,
now located in the county park. The plaque in the front of the photo
was assembled by the MATUCA Clampers, which gives a short
history on the building.

What are the words on that monument talking about?

There is another sign on the school, on the righthand side of the doors.
Here it is in a readable size!
