The Merced River slightly East of Briceburg at an elevation of
around 1000 feet starts to freeze over as the January Freeze Of 2007
brings below normal temps to the valleys, foothills and mountain
regions of California.

When the hustle and bustle of Mariposa life gets to be too much, drive on down to Briceburg, park the car, find a nice water worn rock to sit on and just watch and listen to the water as it makes it's way downstream to Lake McClure.
Close your eyes and imagine you could be sitting in the same spot that another person sat in hundreds or even thousands of years ago, maybe doing the same thing with eyes closed listening to the water.
