The Frozen Merced River In Yosemite National Park During January 2007

" Frozen River "

In contrast to yesterday's photo of the Merced River
down near Briceburg, this photo of that same river
taken on the same day shows a river that is so frozen
that the marks you see on the ice are from ice skaters and
youngsters throwing rocks onto the ice to try to
crack and break the ice.
