Knights Ferry Covered Bridge In Stanislaus County

' Knights Ferry Bridge '
In Stanislaus County back in the early days of the 1850's, William Knight who traveled with John Fremont decided this was the perfect place to operate a Ferry Service across the Stanislaus River before dams were ever thought of.
Though not the original bridge, the bridge here today is the longest covered bridge West of the Mississippi!
Yesterday the river lazily glided under the bridge as now with dams built above the bridge, water releases can be controlled
