Five Stamp Mill At The Mariposa History Center

' Stamp Mill '
This is a five stamp mill at the Mariposa History Center that was in
operation on Sunday as the center celebrated it's 50th Anniversary.
This is looking at the back side of the stamp where the ore carts would
be hauled up by a cable and then the rocks would be dumped into a
gravity fed hopper. The ore would then be mixed with water as it entered
the stamps that were lifted by a cam and then dropped onto the rocks,
crushing them and freeing the gold that was contained in the Quartz!

Great pix of the stamp mill. If anyone has a small video of it running I'd really like to see it.
