Mariposa resident and Photographer Margot Wholey, was in Yosemite National Park over the weekend and captured this photo of the sky over Mariposa County as the Telegraph Fire was consuming thousands of acres. Thanks Margot.

The first three were taken in the Merced River Canyon yesterday before the Highway 140 road closure, about 4 miles East of the Briceburg Bridge. This is why the road was shut down as CalFire was afraid that the fire would jump the river to the South side. The fourth photo is of a Blackhwak Helicopter dousing the fire by the Mount Bullion towers. Thanks for the photos! They include snorkel helicopters, dozer work and a fellow standing on a peak above Bagby. (On a clear day that fellow by looking East could look from there into Yosemite Valley, 30+ miles away!)
