Ranchland Mariposa County,Mariposa Photos,Mariposa 2004

Living out in the lower foothills ranchland.
neighbors are few and far between, as this photo shows.
This was taken out on Bear Valley Road at sunset.
In the 1800's if you were sick, the nearest doctor was in Stockton, Ca.,
a two day ride by horse. So hopefully you were not too sick.
Today by auto that same trip is about 2- 3 hours.
