Manna House Christmas Dinner and Kops for Kids!
On Wednesday December 17, 2008 at the Mariposa County Fairgrounds, Manna House and the Deputy Sheriffs Association had their annual giving to the community as Manna House had over 300 Christmas Dinners prepared and the Kops for Kids program had more toys lined up on the tables than you may see in some stores. For Manna House all the food was purchased with local resident donations and donations by local businesses, including the 49er Market that donated 300 turkeys and Pioneer Market providing food staples. All the churches in Mariposa County come together for this event with donations. Approximately 20% more dinners were expected to be handed out this year compare to last years numbers
of about 270 dinners.
Hats off to the many volunteers who put much time and effort into providing for the community with this event and to the very generous residents who donated to this event.
