Gloryland
Mariposa resident Marilyn Saunders proudly displays her autographed copy of Shelton Johnson's book 'Gloryland.' Shelton Johnson was at a book signing at the Sixth Street Cinema on Wednesday evening. The book, Gloryland is the story of a young Cavalryman, Elijah Yancy, who was born to a sharecropping family of African and Indian blood on Emancipation Day 1863 and his life journeys that eventually lead him to Yosemite National Park as a Buffalo Soldier.
